Mohamed Salah Becomes Premier League’s All-Time Top Foreign Scorer

Mohamed Salah has etched his name into Premier League history by becoming the competition's all-time top foreign scorer after netting twice in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Southampton. The Egyptian forward surpassed Sergio Agüero’s record, reaching 184 league goals in 292 appearances.

Salah’s journey in English football began in 2014 at Chelsea, where he struggled under José Mourinho, scoring just twice. However, since joining Liverpool in 2017, he has been nothing short of phenomenal, scoring 182 goals for the Reds and cementing his legacy as one of the league’s greatest-ever forwards.

His remarkable consistency has put him in pursuit of Andy Cole, who sits fourth on the all-time Premier League scoring chart with 188 goals. However, breaking into the top three—occupied by Wayne Rooney (208), Harry Kane (213), and Alan Shearer (260)—remains a difficult task.

Salah’s instant impact at Liverpool mirrored that of Agüero at Manchester City, both players making an immediate mark. Now in his tenth Premier League season, Salah’s longevity and prolific goal-scoring continue to shape his legacy. If this is indeed his final season at Anfield, he will leave as not only a club legend but a Premier League icon.
